2009 Ballybunion For 2009 the Challenges will be in Ballybunion, Co Kerry. The theme this year is Marconi and Ballybunion, celebrating 100 years since the first Morse signal was sent across the Atlantic, to Newfoundland. Marconi later set up a radio station in Ballybunion, where the first transatlantic voice radio transmission was sent in 1919. Ballybunion will try and keep up the great standard of events (and the fun element too) and plans are afoot to introduce a couple of good twists to the weekend. Some of the local amenities and facilities will be sites for events, making transport and timetables a real challenge! Locations may be: Ø Ferry Bridge                   |
